RP v. Bates & Hunt Limited – North Wales crashed lorry, quadriplegia – Ellesmere Port

Utmost severity case involving multiple injuries, including paraplegia. HGV driver involved in high speed impact due to brake failure. Allegation of poor/inadequate maintenance with cross allegations of negligent driving.

Multiple expert input – engineers, accident reconstruction, rehabilitation, orthopaedic, OT/care, prosthetics, accommodation, psychiatry.

Damages were recovered to include PSLA, care – past and future (for life), adapted bungalow accommodation, adapted vehicle. Damages were also recovered for the cost of a specially adapted golf buggy, the overall aim to return the Claimant – as far as possible, to the pre-accident position.
