JB v BTH NHS FT – Bradford

A complex case, the core issues the failure to obtain (informed) consent and prolonged failure to diagnose and/or properly manage, hospital-acquired infection, ultimately resulting in above knee amputation.

Expert evidence in seven disciplines – microbiology, orthopaedic, rehabilitation, accommodation, O/T care, prosthetics, psychiatry.

In addition to pain, suffering and lost amenity, damages were recovered for care, single storey accommodation, adapted motor vehicle and importantly a state of the art prosthesis with computer intuitive capability, facilitating mobility on uneven/inclined ground.

The case settled in a seven figure sum.
